Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is a restorative procedure used to treat chipped, discolored, cracked and disarranged teeth. Our Los Angeles dental bonding specialists offer dental bonding as an alternative to porcelain veneers and or standard veneers.
How Does It Work?
The dental bonding procedure begins with your dentist creating light etches on the surface of the problem tooth or teeth. Your dentist will then apply a bonding liquid to the surface of your tooth. Once this liquid has had adequate time to set-in, your dentist will apply a plastic resin and sculpt it to the desired shape. Once completed, the resin will be given time to completely set. Your dentist will then follow-up by trimming, smoothing and polishing the resin to mimic the natural appearance of the rest of your teeth.
Considerations
Our Los Angeles office typically completes dental bonding appointments in a single office visit. Dental bondings are known to significantly improve the appearance of chipped, cracked or stained teeth. This being said, because dental bondings require the use of plastic resin, it is more likely to stain, chip and break. Dental bonding typically lasts 3 – 5 years with proper treatment.
